Jennie Garth Gets A Reality Show
I remember back in the day when Green Acres would show up on television every morning like it was some kind of cartoon. It was about two people from New York who lived on a farm and their crazy adventures. Eva Gabor starred in it. Oh and Eddie Albert. He was also in Escape To Witch Mountain starring Kim Richards. It all goes full circle here in Hollywood.
Anyway, ever since then people have tried the formula. Most recently Roseanne tried to do it when she had that farm show in Hawaii. Tori & Dean kind of did it with their B&B and now Jennie Garth is doing it. The premise of the show is that her entire family move to a farm and their crazy life on the farm. Whoo hoo. It is good to see Jennie doing something. The show is going to be produced by her husband Peter Facinelli. It sounds boring. Do you ever feel like there is too much television? Too many choices in television? I can barely keep up now.
I love Jennie Garth! Wish she had a better acting career than this... Wish her luck, and hey, even success in Reality TV.
ReplyDeleteOne thing for sure, I'd rather watch her than K! Anytime, anywhere.
*sigh* I sure wish reality shows would just die. Not interested. At all. Even tho I like her.
ReplyDeleteI'm more surprised about the fact that Jennie and Peter are still together-- hasn't there been a lot of whispers of them slitting?
ReplyDeleteThey have guys really jousting on NatGeo and mentally challenged people mining for gold in Alaska on a different channel, that (jousting) is the only reality shows I am willing to sit through.
ReplyDeleteHaven't had a TV since March. Honestly don't feel like I'm missing anything and I used to be the BIGGEST TV junkie.
ReplyDelete*sPlitting... oops ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm tired of reality shows. I want to either be educated, or escape through television. Give me National Geographic or I Love Lucy. I don't want to see everyday lives of semi-famous people, I have my own everyday life which, frankly, is more interesting than any of theirs.
ReplyDeleteUh-oh. Having a reality show is the kiss of death for a marriage. She can kiss her cute little Twilight husband goodbye.
ReplyDeleteI read that Clint Eastwood's daughter is also hopping on the reality wagon. Wonder what Dad thinks of it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE her, and I hope this premise works! She actually grew up on a farm here in Illinois (Champaign) so farming won't be much of a stretch for her!
ReplyDeleteWHY?
ReplyDeleteI'm with Syko - either education or entertainment. The only reality shows I watch are Pawn Stars and Storage Wars because I do tend to learn a little on each episode about the things they find. @.robert - my husband likes that Alaska gold minrs show too although he agrees - they're not the sharpest pencils in the box.
ReplyDeleteI love Jennie Garth but I also think she is the most boring, vanilla, white bread celebrity in the world. Won't be watching. Unless she invites Shannen over!
ReplyDeleteI love Peter F but it's mistake for their family, any family. I don't watch reality TV anymore. I used to watch it all.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a disaster waiting to happen for their family. Also, he still has a career. Something like this seems like putting a nail in the coffin.
ReplyDeletePlease let reality shows die! There are tons of good writers ignored in H'wood and this is the best they can come up with? Oy vey.
ReplyDeleteThe only reality shows I watch are Sister Wives (guilty pleasure but so INTERESTING) and Deadliest Catch.
ReplyDeleteI think Deadliest Catch is hilarious and reminds me of when I was on construction jobsites. Dangerous shenanigans :)
@Rita - it's actually Clint's wife Dina, their daughter and Clint's daughter w/ Frances Fisher that are doing the reality show. Clint may make some special appearances here and there supposedly.
ReplyDeleteI still remember when Clint & Dina got married. She was our news anchor on our local NBC station KSBW while he was mayor of Carmel - I think she interviewed for something and they were together ever since. Strange how life works..
Sound like Jennie gets to stay home and get paid for it! I'll watch it just to check out their farm, but I can already see it now: Jennie gathering eggs and herding animals while showing us how zany and cute she is!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved Jennie Garth, but I'm not into the "real life" genre of reality shows. Take celebs or non-celebs and put them in a game show format - love it. RH of BH has been fun because it feels unreal, but this season has gotten boring. Watching how normal people live their lives - eh. I can see that everyday by simply breathing.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed at how much crap is on TV. How can there be so many channels, but the programming gets less and less interesting? At this point, my tv viewing is down to:
- Jeopardy
- Survivor
- Amazing Race
- Big Brother
- Revenge
- re-runs of Frazier and Friends and Newsradio
- Mad Men (would this show PLEASE finally get back to airing new epi's?!)
- the news (and man, how I wish CNN would get back to actually airing the news)
I don't watch reality TV bought will give this one a go! I like Peter F and Jennie G and wouldn't mind a glimpse into their world
ReplyDeleteI thought she and her husband were separated? Well a "happy family" reality show is the kiss of death to a marriage so if they were not before then soon enough. Too bad, i like them both.
ReplyDeleteAwww, I used to love watching reruns of Green Acres when I was a toddler apparently. Eva and Eddie made that concept funny, not too many celebrities of today could pull that off.
ReplyDeleteI am under the impression Jennie has a new show being filmed- a series? On a major network.
ReplyDeleteJennie and her family live in the community I have lived in for 36 yrs- they attend our school. Attend our same location of dance lessons. She is a major PTA helper- shows up for any and all needs when she can.
They are a very nice, down to earth couple- as far as I have seen- I am not a Twilight fan- have never seen it- but both seem as nice and easy going as you can be while driving a very expensive (though understated) vehicle.
Her oldest daughter was well (she has moved on to high school) known at school for begging her parents to down play any connection to the industry- she is also very talented- a darn good singer in fact. When they are all together- they are very affection filled and the littlest one is a dead ringer for her Dad.
Ihave heard they are building a new place- they currently have a 5 or 10 acre spread with every and all things a kid could want....have heard they are building a new place right near by- still in our school district.
GOOD LUCK FACINELLI FAMILY!
Soooooo......I guess they're NOT shooting season 4 of Nurse Jackie anytime soon? GD it, Peter Facinelli is great as Coop. I love him, what a moron.
ReplyDeleteseems like would be very boring. similar to having the fire place on your screen, or the fish tank. when i see them now i'm reminded of that pix they did w/ everyone in crocs. she and her family seem very nice. is that interesting enough to watch(?)
ReplyDeleteyeah i thought they were separated
ReplyDeleteGosh, I hope they aren't really separated. That would make their reality show AWKward! ;)
ReplyDeleteI like them both. I'd watch.
I also loved Green Acres. I was always horrified that Lisa had to leave lovely NY for a farm.
